Background and Experience
For over eighteen years, Michele has built a solid reputation as a trusted employee, colleague, and leader. Michele is committed to providing quality service to the community.
Michele graduated with a degree and teaching certificate in Special Education/Learning Disabilities from the University of Kansas, a program consistently ranked number one in the country by U.S. News and World Report. She served as an inclusion facilitator for three junior high schools, and taught K-12 regular and special education, in both private and public schools. She specialized in content enhancement and learning strategies curriculum, community-based instruction, and full inclusion collaborative teaching.
Michele instructed writing at the college level for seven years. She also worked as a technical writer, content developer, and instructional designer for computer-based training for telecommunications, railroads, and faculty and staff development in elementary and secondary schools.
Michele worked for The Triple-I Corporation as a facilitator responsible for developing and running online professional forums or communities of practice for the U.S. Army's Battle Command Knowledge System (BCKS). Michele was the main author and point of contact for the first handbook used by BCKS. As a research analyst and project manager for Northrop Grumman Technical Services Corporation, Michele provided expertise in human factors for instructional design and web based projects, such as the first virtual field manual for the Combined Arms Center, Collective Training Directorate. In that position, she served as a researcher for effective peer to peer training, co-authoring a guide for facilitators with the U.S. Army Research Institute for the Behavioral and Social Sciences. While working for Northrop Grumman, she also developed an Interactive Multimedia Design Document in a pilot study for the Center for Army Leadership's Multi-Source Assessment and Feedback program.
